The Town of Princess Anne to host free Christmas events, Saturday, December 2

PRINCESS ANNE – This Saturday, December 2, the Town of Princess Anne will be bustling with holiday activities. The Princess Anne Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Princess Anne Christmas Parade, which includes nearly 50 parade entries. The parade begins at 11 am and travels north down Somerset Avenue from the Industrial Park, through Historic Downtown Princess Anne, to Broad Street.

Main Street Princess Anne has organized nearly 30 Pop-Up Shop vendors, which will be located in the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company on Somerset Avenue. The Pop-Up Shops will be open from 10 am until 2 pm, on December 2. Princess Anne Pop-Up vendors include local artists and businesses featuring homemade jellies and jams, baked goods, locally-crafted sea glass jewelry, homemade soaps, local nature photographers, wood crafts, handmade wreaths and home decor, LuLaRoe, Scentsy, Thirty-One, Avon, Paparazzi, Perfectly Posh, Mary Kay, and more. Two food trucks, including Tony’s Catering Food Truck, will be located on Somerset Avenue from 10 am – 2 pm.

Cascading Carlos, the juggler, will be downtown from 12-2 pm, entertaining the crowd with his interactive juggling show. Santa’s House will also be open.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Hawks’ Corner, also located on Somerset Avenue, will be open to the public and will offer free hot chocolate and cookies. New at Hawks’ Corner, this year, children and families will enjoy a large-scale, vintage train display, organized and set-up by volunteers from the Somerset County Historical Society.

The Princess Anne Branch of the Somerset County Library will host Santa and children can get photographs taken with him, that day.

After the parade is over, there will still be plenty of activity. Local shops, including three antique stores on Somerset Avenue and Broad Street, will offer discounts and special merchandise. Pop-Up Shops will remain open until 2 pm. The Somerset County Historical Society will host its Old Princess Anne Days Christmas House Tour, too, from 1-5:30 pm. Tickets for the House Tour are $15 each and can be purchased at Somerset Choice Station on Somerset Avenue. All other activities are free.
