The Civil War comes to Princess Anne on May 16

Civil WarPRINCESS ANNE — The Somerset County Historical Society, in cooperation with the Lower Eastern Shore Heritage Area, is hosting a free event open to the public, entitled the “American Civil War” on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Teackle Mansion, located at the intersection of Prince William Street and Mansion Street in Princess Anne, Maryland.

The event will feature exhibits of Civil War artifacts and weapons, a lecture on Maryland in the Civil War, re-enactors, tradesmen and book sales.

Exhibits and re-enactors will be located at the Teackle Mansion and a lecture will be given at the St. Andrew’s Parish House at 1 p.m., by Maryland’s noted Civil War author, Daniel Carroll Toomey. Light refreshments will be served.
