Street Fest coming soon to downtown Princess Anne

PRINCESS ANNE — Following months of planning and preparation, the Princess Anne Chamber of Commerce proudly presents Princess Anne’s 2015 Community Street Fest. Organizers say mark your calendars for Saturday, May 9 as this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The festivities begin at 10 a.m. in Princess Anne’s historic downtown area of Somerset Avenue, and will continue throughout the day winding down at 4 p.m. There will be numerous games and activities for children include: a bouncy house, train rides, face painting, story time, corn hole, dunking booth, and petting zoo.
There will also be a bicycle parade for the children to “show off” their rides. Decorations will be provided by Street Fest sponsors at a decoration station. For youngsters wishing to add their own personal style to their bikes, they are welcome to use their own decorations.
This event is for the entire family, and the Street Fest committee didn’t leave out your furry family members. Show off your adorable pet in the pet parade.
For car enthusiasts, don’t miss the car show featuring some amazing rides from the Delmarva area and beyond. A trophy ceremony will follow the show.
Live performances include musical entertainment, praise dancers, martial arts demonstrations, and the 2015 Little Miss Princess Anne Pageant will be one of the highlights of the day.
Visitors can find a treasure or two by browsing the flea market, and local artisans will have jewelry, arts & craft items, and more. And then there’s the food. Vendors will line the avenue selling crab cakes, fish, BBQ chicken, wings, hotdogs & burgers, skewers, oyster fritters, an array of desserts & baked goods, ice cream, and funnel cakes, and more.
Craft beers will be sold in the beer garden area, and beer and wine making demos and tastings will be offered as well. This is Mother’s Day weekend so you’ll be able to find a special gift for her.
